Things as They Really Are

Do we really see things as they really are. Daily, I am reminded (or picked on) for not being willing to be on Face Book and other things like that. I know me and my addictive personality...and I would be constantly on the computer reading about this person or that person rather than doing what I really need to do.

I not only need to see things as they really are, I need to look at things from an eternal perspective.

Our Newest Piece of Sweetness

Meet Zoey May Rees, born August 26, 2011. Zoey weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and is 20 inches long. Mom Whitney and Dad Danny, sisters Nevaeh and Bella are thrilled.
Of course, her great-grammy and great-gramps are jumping up and down with joy.
Thank you Heavenly Father for bringing Zoey safely here. She and cousin Jayden are two months apart and I am sure as they grow up will be finding all kinds of "fun" things to do together.

Moments That Matter Most

This really helps to put life into its proper perspective. We need to enjoy every moment that we are given. Life is fragile...handle it with prayer!

Grandma's Bragging Rights

I guess every grandma has the right to brag...regardless of what others feel about the performance!

This is Kai - the cutie with the glasses - (Kristy's youngest) performing at his preschool graduation with his best friend, Nathan.

What a joy my family is to me. Wonder where they get all their talent from!

I Am a Child of God

I am grateful for the testimony that I have that I am a Child of God. I know Heavenly Father lives; that my Savior, Jesus Christ lives, and that if I live righteously, I can live with them again.

How Are We Treating Each Other?

Makes you stop and think how different the world can become if we were a little kinder to each other. Home would be the best place to start!

Never Ever Give Up

So very many times when things get tough I think how much easier it would be to give up. Someone sent me this video and it was truly inspiring.

Cick on the title below...I am sure this will inspire you during hard times and when you see others struggling, as well.

Never Ever Give Up

Life can truly be amazing when we look at things from an eternal point of view!

Obiedience is the First Law of Heaven

Obedience is the first law of heaven. I have taught this principle many times over the years...first as a mom...and then the many years (30) that I taught Seminary. A few months ago our Stake President-Bryan Crawley- spoke at our Ward Conference. He presented "The Big Five", and said that if we would live the five principles faithfully, we would see a difference in our lives. So what are the "Big 5" 1. Prayer-both morning and night as individuals, as families, and as couples 2. Scripture Study-daily. Again as individuals, as families, as couples 3. Family Home Evening-every week 4. Temple Attendance-no less than once a month 5. Paying an honest tithe and a generous fast offering John and I both felt strongly that we definitely needed to improve in all those areas. We knelt together and asked the Lord to help us be completely obedient to what has been asked. What a difference there is in our home. We are both feeling closer to our Father in Heaven and the Savior. There is less contention, more love and support. I so love President Crawley, and am grateful for his counsel.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

This is a true story:

One day a son asked his father, "Daddy, will you run a marathon with me?"
The father asnwered, "yes", and both of them ran their first marathon together.
Another day, the son asked his father if he wants to run the marathon with him again, and the father answered, "yes". They both ran the marathon together again.
Then, one day the son asked his father, "Daddy will you run the Ironman with me?" (the Ironman is the toughest...it requires a 4km swim, 180km biking, and 42k, running).
The father said, "Yes" again.

This sounds easy...not necessarily so. Please watch the video below.

Never Alone

I know that I am never alone. My Heavenly Father and Savir are always ready for me to reach out and call on them.

The Mom Song

How I love being a mom!!!

I truly do. Believe it or not...I miss those days when our kids were young and I ran from here to there and back!!!

Life is a blessing...with a huge "To Do" List

Life is such a blessing...even with so much to do. These past few weeks have been so chaotic. Yet I wouldn't change any of it. What a blessing to have my children and grand children around, in and out at all times of the day and night.

We think after our children are grown...life will be less hectic. No way! That's what so great about family. Life keeps happening.

I feel so blessed to be part of it all. What a privilege to hear their laughter, dry their tears, hold them when they are disappointed or fearful, to see their faces when they have accomplished what they set out to do or say their abc's or count to 50.

How I love to hear them come in the house with "Grammy...where are you? I need a kiss and what's in the snack drawer!"

Having Kelsey living with us has been a joy. She has started a new job at Cold Stone's...yum! She was so excited to start, yet so nervous. She is a darling and so very funny. We sing and dance together and she tells her friends that I am "Betty Crocker".

Life is busy, hectic and chaotic...that's for sure. My "to do" list continues to grow. I am grateful I have the health and desire to do what I can do for my family and others.
